Assistant Professor, Department of Geophysics, Boğaziçi University | CEO and Co-Founder, TensorBundle
About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geophysics at Boğaziçi University. My research brings together geophysics, applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to study complex physical systems and data-intensive scientific problems.
I received my Ph.D. in Geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Before that, I completed an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a B.Sc. in Mathematics at Middle East Technical University.
On the geophysics side, I work on seismic source theory, moment tensors, anisotropic media, elasticity tensors, ray tracing, and seismic phase association. On the computational side, I develop and apply AI and machine learning methods for scientific data, prediction of random events, optimization, and inverse problems.
I am also CEO and co-founder of TensorBundle, an applied AI and machine learning company that connects mathematical research with practical problems in science, engineering, and industry.
